School years' are the best part of any individual's life, barring the exam days. For most students, managing exam stress is a challenge. Even the most carefully planned exam study schedule can go awry if not properly followed. Here are some exam preparation tips to help you excel in school.

1. Early start

The earlier your start your preparation, the less stressful it is. Remember the proverb "The early bird gets the worm!" An early start will give you more time to prepare for the exam.

2. Have a regular study time

Allocating a regular study time will instil in you a disciplined approach to studying. Please remember everything is a matter of habit. Like you brush your teeth twice a day, make your study time as a habitual daily task. It improves your concentration and will also give you free time for other activities.

3. Make a study plan

Gather all your study materials and make a proper plan to cover the exam syllabus. Allocate study time realistically for each subject. Include some time for breaks and also for revisions. Give more time for tough subjects.

4. Studying for the exam

Now that you have made your study plan, it is time to actually start your studies. Sit in a calm and quiet place and study. Switch off your electronic devices while studying to avoid distractions. Make summary notes while studying for a quick recap during exam days. Refer previous exam papers to find out the question pattern. Solve as many sample papers as possible to get more and more practice.

5. Go to bed early

Proper rest is essential for you to retain what you have studied. Switch off all your electronic devices and go to bed early. Sleep for at least 8 hours to allow your body to get proper rest.

6. Drink plenty of water











Drinking water is a great stress buster. Keep a bottle of water handy and keep sipping at regular intervals. It will hydrate your body and will keep you feeling fresh. Avoid sodas and other carbonated drinks. If you don't like the taste of plain water, add a dash of lemon.





7. Eat healthy

Try to eat balanced healthy meals and keep your dinner light. Snack on fruits and salads with a tasty dip. Try not to binge eat on junk foods and fried foods as a stress buster.

8. Relax

Practice being positive, stay calm and mobilize your energies to do the best job possible. Don't get disheartened by any bad days when you are not able to keep up with your study schedule.
