Dreaming of a Better India Through Our Children's Eyes

India, a South Asian second most populous democracy in the world. From the 4th century to 6th century, it was a golden age of India for its large achievements in the field of mathematics, astronomy, philosophy, religion, science and medicine. Every foreigner was interested to see the Indian culture, education, economy etc. at that time.
Now the year is 2016. Almost 1500 years have gone. We expect at least few developments or improvements in every year. It's a difference of 1500 years between then and now. Today India should lead the world. But the current position of India in any field is not acceptable except in a few areas.
We should not worry about, what was the reason, but we should worry about how to get back the glory. The solution is only the human development. But how can it possible, which has not become possible within hundreds of years.
Only we have to align our mentality towards development. But it is very difficult to change the mentality of an adult person. Only we can build up a mentality in our children. I don't think any parents in India teaches their children about "helping hand to others". When a student comes back to home from school, every parent ask-"Beta! How was your exam? How much did you score?" Everyone thinks that his son/daughter should secure the 1st rank in his/her class. No one asks "Have you helped your friends today? Or have you involved in any social activity?" We are teaching them that he or she should think about himself or herself only, he should not bother about anyone.
Don't do that. Education is not the bookish knowledge. Health is not the rank in competitive exams. India has a rank of 130 in the Human Development Index (HDI) among 188 countries in the world. Why? If we are so much worried about our education, knowledge, health, income, then India should secure the 1st rank. We only blame our politicians that they are not doing their job in the right way. But think that they are also a man selected from our community. If my son got elected as a Chief Minister or Prime Minister, he will also do that what politicians are doing. Human development is only possible when every citizen will take responsibility for his/her country towards development. Social service, equal opportunity, creating and/or retaining jobs can bring human development.
Change your thinking process. Teach your student "Don't search for a job, create a job." Teach your son " Don't worry only about your personal health, worry about your community's health." "Do not think only about your personal economic growth, think about your community's economic growth."
Do not measure the success of your children by their rank in competitive exams, measure their success by, how much they have done something for others. Teach your child, "learn to give." When this generation will come, I think 50% problems will be solved regarding social development.
