The Great Lakes state has a rich heritage. Most people know that the state capital was built in Lansing in 1879, but what most people don't know is that Lansing has its own Walk of Fame dedicated to state residents. In addition, Lansing was the first to create an organization dedicated to women's history. Michigan Women's Historical Center and Hall of Fame is that organization. The Historical Center has an ongoing exhibit at their Elizabeth Belen Gallery displaying the history of quilters. Your little one will be enthralled by the beautiful quilts sewn by some of the strongest women in history.
